Overview Itinerary
The Ship
Holland America Line's ms Koningsdam made a splash when she launched in April 2016. The first of the Pinnacle-class ships, ms Koningsdam continues Holland America's high-class traditions and signature service with the addition of light-filled spaces and chic interiors. On-board innovations such as the Music Walk entertainment complex, two-level Magrodome pool area and the impressive three deck high glass-roofed Atrium, add to your on-board enjoyment. Days at sea are your opportunity to explore the ship’s facilities. Relax by the Lido Pool or indulge in a hot stone massage in the Greenhouse Spa & Salon. Drop by the Digital Workshop for a photo editing workshop, or shape up on the latest cardio machines in the Fitness Centre. Create your own wine at Blend or experience hands-on cookery classes at The Culinary Arts Centre. Pirate treasure hunts, karaoke dance parties and mocktail mixology classes are just some of the exciting activities for 3 to 17 year olds at Club HAL.

Food
ms Koningsdam's restaurants and cafes showcase a world of flavours and styles. The casual Lido Market features themed stations for grab and go options and freshly-made fast food, or tuck into signature burgers by the pool at Dive-In. Authentic deli sandwiches, thin crust pizzas and colourful salads are served at New York Deli & Pizza, or indulge in freshly-made iced desserts at Gelato. The Dining Room spans two decks with a copper-sheathed wine tower as its showpiece. The menu combines signature dishes, classic favourites, vegetarian options and regionally-inspired cuisine with the option of pre-set seating and dining times or "As You Wish" dining. Enjoy farm-to-table style dinners at the Culinary Arts Centre, or a la carte French seafood classics at the intimate Sel de Mer brasserie. Dine with family and friends spartire-style with authentic Italian dishes to share at Canaletto. Savour exotic oriental cuisine and sushi at Tamarind, or a romantic dining experience at Pinnacle Grill.

Drink
There is a variety of bars and lounges on board ms Koningsdam. The Dutch Cafe combines a blue and white Delftware decor with Dutch pale lagers, freshly-brewed coffee and traditional snacks. The Lido and Sea View Bars are ideal for poolside drinks and mocktails, or step one deck up to enjoy cocktails with a view at Panorama Bar. The refined Explorer's Bar is the perfect spot to while away time sipping a gin and tonic and exotic liqueurs. The Crow's Nest showcases panoramic vistas by day, transforming into an intimate bar for signature cocktails after dark.

Entertainment
Discover an eclectic mix of evening entertainment. The Music Walk stages are the heartbeat of the night-time scene - from chamber music and recitals at Lincoln Centre Stage and Memphis style funk and soul tunes at BB Kings's Blue Club/Queen's Lounge, to interactive shows and live music from the past five decades at Billboard Onboard. Watch first-run movies under the stars at the open-air big screen, or roll the dice on the gaming tables in the Casino.
Day 1: UK to Rome, Italy
Fly from your chosen UK airport to Rome. Upon arrival take a coach transfer to the port to board ms Koningsdam and set sail for Greece.
Day 2: At Sea
Day 3: Katakolon (Olympia), Greece
The sleepy fishing port of Katakolon sits on the west coast of the Peloponnese, close to Pyrgos. The port is gateway to one of Greece's most famous landmarks - Olympia. Visit the ancient ruins of the Olympic Stadium where the sacred flame is lit each Olympic year. Pay a visit to the remains of the 7th-century BC Temple of Hera and the Temple of Zeus. Admire the classical, Roman and Greek treasures at the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. Pay a visit to the Mercouri Estate Winery to enjoy a wine tour and taste the wine.
Day 4 - 5: Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Ferries and ships fill the seemingly endless quays in Piraeus, a major port city situated within the Athens urban area. For luxury, view the impressive yachts and cruisers in Zea marina and dine in the restaurants, taverns and bars nearby. Take a stroll to Kastella; at the top of the hill you’ll find picturesque views, beautiful buildings and cultural events taking place at the outdoor theatre, ‘Veakio’. Visit the Museum of Piraeus and discover the rise and fall of the ancient city.
Day 6: Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos sits in the Aegean Sea with traditional white-washed houses and bright-blue waters. Wander the twisting narrow lanes, which were originally designed to confuse pirate invaders, and discover quaint shops and boutiques. Visit stylish beach bars, modern restaurants and see the iconic 16th-century Venetian windmills which overlook Mykonos town — the island's capital.
Day 7: Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
The Turkish port of Kusadasi is today's port of call. Enjoy a morning's shopping around Kusadasi's lively bazaars or spend a few hours sunbathing on the nearby Long and Ladies Beaches. A trip to Ephesus is a must for culture fans - home to the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the World) and Library of Celsus. Make for the hills of Selcuk to admire the House of the Virgin Mary and taste local fruit-based wines in Sirince.
Day 8: Rhodes, Greece
The Port of Rhodes sits on the northern edge of Rhodes Island — 12 miles off the coast of Turkey. With just a short walk you’ll reach the Citadel of Rhodes and its various boutiques, cafes and souvenir shops. Immerse yourself further in Rhodes’ fascinating history and visit the Palace of the Grand Masters. You can take a short 50-minute taxi ride to Lindos and witness the breathtaking Acropolis of Lindos. There are also an abundance of beaches on Rhodes to chill out and relax.
Day 9: Thira (Santorini), Greece
The village of Thira (also known as Fira) is the capital of the Greek island of Santorini and perches on a cliff top overlooking the caldera. Take the tender boat to the port side and choose your route up to Thira - either take a donkey ride up the 587 steps or hop on the modern cable car. Get cultural at the Museum of Prehistoric Thira, home to wall paintings and ceramics excavated from the ancient Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri. View the frescoes by local artist Christoforos Asimis at the white-washed Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral. Enjoy the beautiful views of Nea Kameni from the cliff top or travel to the island village of Oia, famous for its blue-roofed buildings and colourful sunsets. No visit to Thira would be complete without tasting the local gyros - freshly carved pork of chicken meat, salad, and tzatziki in a flatbread.
Day 10: At Sea
Day 11: Naples (Pompeii), Greece
Naples on Italy's Amalfi Coast is your next port of call. Visit Piazza del Plebiscito to admire the Royal Palace, Galleria Umberto and San Carlo Theatre. Step inside the Duomo to view the Cappella di San Gennaro, the baptistery, and colourful frescoes and mosaics. Enjoy family-time at Acquario Della Stazione Zoological Di Napoli. Join a tour to the ruins of Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and picturesque Sorrento and Positano. Or take a scenic boat trip to the beautiful island of Capri.
Day 12: Rome, Italy to UK
Today your cruise comes to an end, disembark the ship and be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
