Built in 2007 and after a decade of exploring some of the most spectacular waters on our planet including Antarctica, MS Fram will receive a total makeover and re-emerge in 2020 as a brand-new expedition ship with new accommodation, public areas and dining venues and, more environmentally friendly engines. The spacious outdoor viewing decks bring you up close to nature and the Expedition Team further enhance your experience with lectures throughout the trip. Spend days afloat enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and relax on the sun deck which is the ideal place to take in the passing views. The rooftop sauna is a great place to unwind and relax, or take a dip in one of the bubbling hot Jacuzzis. Enjoy a work-out with a scenic passing view as you use the treadmills or bikes in the fitness room.
The restaurant offers open seating and buffet-style cuisine at breakfast and lunch. All tables in this restaurant have views of the outside scenery through the panoramic windows. Dinner varies between buffets, set menus, and barbeques; with the mode of dining announced daily in the on-board programme.
The observation deck offers a comfortable sitting area where you can enjoy a range of drinks while gazing at the incredible natural views from the top of the ship. The lounge also has a coffee service throughout the day.
The entertainment on board MS Fram is relaxed and low-key and the Expedition Team host a lecture programme and daily gatherings. Step out on deck as they guide you through the points of interest, nature, culture and other phenomena along the ever-changing coastline. Enjoy ambient background music in the evening as you socialise with your fellow guests in the lounge. Stroll along the several observation decks and enjoy the scenic views from all panoramic angles. The high-tech Science Centre and Lecture Hall are where you can discover scientific and educational activities with the Expedition Team.
Day 1: Halifax, Canada

Day 2: Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
A lovely historic town of Yarmouth boasts fine Victorian homes, museums, churches, wharves, and other hidden gems. Step ashore and join an excursion to see ornate Captain´s homes, and the lighthouse that guided them safely back home after long journeys at sea. Or maybe take the seaside walking trail to Cape Forchu and explore the rugged landscape as you take in the far-reaching views.
Day 3: Eastport, Maine
We sail into cozy Eastport on Moose Island. The native Passamaquoddy Tribe has called the area home for at least 10.000 years. In 1833, Eastport grew to be the second-largest trading port after New York. Enjoy the historic waterfront on foot, join our team for a hike or opt for a day on the water.
Day 4: Bar Harbor, Maine
Adventure, romance, rocky coast, and soaring granite cliffs … there is a special mystique to Bar Harbor. Surrounded by the stunning fall colours of Acadia National Park and perched on the edge of the sea, this little community offers so much to see in a beautiful New England setting.
Day 5: Rockland, Maine
Known for its lobster-fishing industry and deep harbor, dotted with hundreds of inlets and coves, the charming coastal town of Rockland is situated alongside Penobscot Bay. Rockland’s historic homes and charming shops feature great architecture and Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center are worth a visit.
Day 6: Provincetown, Massachusetts and the Beaches of Cape Cod
Situated on the extreme tip of the Peninsula of Cape Cod is colourful Provincetown. is and is surrounded by ample beaches. In 1620, the pilgrims aboard the Mayflower set anchor at what is today Provincetown Harbor and its historic maritime character and art scene attract visitors all year around.
Day 7: Newport, Rhode Island
Newport is a shining gem in the crown of New England, home to spectacular coastal scenery, awe-inspiring architecture, a thriving waterfront downtown, and welcoming hospitality. Stroll around iconic Ocean Drive, discover Colonial architecture or explore the tunnels at Fort Adams, America’s largest coastal fortification.
Day 8: New York
Sail along the Hudson River into Manhattan, passing by the stunning Statue of Liberty whilst enjoying the skyline of this iconic metropolis before it is time to say farewell before disembarking MS Roald Amundsen and transferring to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
