Day 1: UK to Budapest
Fly from your selected UK airport to Budapest and be transferred to the port to embark on board a concerto river ship.
Day 2: Bratislava, Slovakia
Step ashore today in Bratislava where you can venture out on a guided tour. Alternatively, explore independently through the picturesque streets of the old town or meander along St Michael's Street and admire the fairy tale-like St Michael’s Tower. Visit the peaceful Slavin to pay your respects to fallen soldiers, pay a call to the historical Devin Castle, or admire modern art at Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum. Later, attend a Signature Experience traditional folklore show in the Old Town. Perhaps learn a few Slovak dance moves, before sampling some delicious local specialities.
Day 3: Vienna, Austria
Take in a walking tour of Vienna today. Vienna is packed to the brim with wonderful sights — from the world-famous Opera House and Spanish Riding School to the Burgtheatre, Town Hall, St Stephen's Cathedral, Schonbrunn Palace, and Hofburg Imperial Palace. After dinner, tonight's Signature Experience takes you to the magnificent Liechtenstein’s City Palace; where you'll attend an exclusive Cocktail Reception and a private concert featuring classical masterpieces and an operatic recital.
Day 4: Budapest, Hungary
Today, return to Budapest and discover one of the Danube’s most beautiful cities as you join a local guide for an exciting tour, including a visit to the spectacular Hungarian Parliament Building on the river front. The 19th-century Chain Bridge spans Danube River and connects the hilly Buda district with the flat Pest area. You may have time to ride on the tram up Castle Hill to Buda's old town where you can step back to Roman times at Budapest History Museum and discover the World Heritage-listed Royal Palace.
Day 5: Pecs, Hungary
The ancient city of Pecs sits on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains in southern Hungary, close to the Croatian border. Founded by Romans, this charming city is world-famous for it Zsolnay ceramics and is packed to the brim with famous landmarks; including the UNESCO-listed Sopiane Early Christian Mausoleum with its frescoed tombs, Pecs Cathedral on Szent Istvan Square with its vast towers, and the 16th-century domed Mosque of Pasha Gazi Kasim. Admire the exhibits on display at Gallery of Modern Hungarian Art and Csonvary Museum. Meander past the stylish shops and cafes on Kiraly Street and visit the nearby National Theatre and Art Nouveau style Palatinus Hotel.
Day 6: Belgrade, Serbia
In the Serbian capital of Belgrade, the choice of today’s activity is yours. Freedom of Choice™ sightseeing options include a visit to the Belgrade Fortress and the Serbian Orthodox Temple of St Sava. Alternatively, take a bike ride or visit a brandy distillery for a tasting. Later, enjoy some free time in the city centre to stroll along Prince Michael Street, the city’s main shopping district.
Day 7: Iron Gates, Romania
Today the ship charts a leisurely course through one of Europe’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders, the Iron Gates. Here the Danube narrows as it winds for a distance of 134kms through a series of magnificent gorges between the Carpathian Mountains and the Balkans - forming a natural border between Serbia and Romania.
Day 8: Giurgiu, Disembark Ship, Depart Bucharest
Disembark in Giurgiu and be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
