The Ship
Setting sail in 2019; MSC Bellissima is an ultra-modern cruise ship that boasts a plethora of features and is sister ship to MSC Meraviglia. The Galleria Bellissima central promenade with its spectacular 80-metre-long LED dome is the focal point of the ship and is lined with places to eat and drink. Day 3: Barcelona, Spain
Today you will embark on the brand new flagship MSC Bellissima. Set sail in late afternoon on your seven-night Mediterranean cruise.
Day 4: Marseille, France
The ship drops anchor today at Marseille on the Cote d'Azur. Watch the fisherman land their daily catch as you enjoy a coffee at the Vieux Port. Stroll around the maze of alleyways lined with bohemian-style buildings in the old Le Panier district. Meander through the parks at Palais Longchamps before climbing the hill to admire the views from Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling Marche des Capucins food market. Hop on the ferry to Chateau d'If, immortalised in 'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexander Dumas. The pretty town of Aix-en-Provence and the medieval city of Avignon are also within easy reach.
Day 5: Genoa, Italy
Step ashore today at the lively Italian port of Genoa. Stroll around the old town district and uncover Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, Palazzo Ducale, Piazza de Ferrari, and the Renaissance palaces on Via Garibaldi. Ride the Il Bigo elevator at the Old Harbour to enjoy panoramic views of the area. Visit Acquario de Genova for close-up views of colourful marine life or explore the city's maritime heritage at Galata Maritime Museum. Santa Margherita Ligure and the stylish resort of Portofino are just waiting to be discovered further along the coast.
Day 6: Naples, Italy
Naples on Italy's Amalfi Coast is your next port of call. Visit Piazza del Plebiscito to admire the Royal Palace, Galleria Umberto and San Carlo Theatre. Step inside the Duomo to view the Cappella di San Gennaro, the baptistery, and colourful frescoes and mosaics. Enjoy family-time at Acquario Della Stazione Zoological Di Napoli. Join a tour to the ruins of Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and picturesque Sorrento and Positano. Or take a scenic boat trip to the beautiful island of Capri.
Day 7: Messina, Italy
The ship docks today at the Sicilian port of Messina. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the ancient streets surrounding the harbour before admiring the statue of Madonna della Lettera at Fort of San Salvatore. Visit the astronomical clock on Il Duomo di Messina and Fontana de Orione at the 12th-century Piazza del Duomo, before dropping into the nearby Chiesa Annunziata dei Catalini church. A ride on the Circumetnea Railway around Mount Etna volcano is a unique experience or you can spend time at the charming cliff top town of Taormina.
Day 8: Valletta, Malta
Malta's capital city – Valletta – is your final port. With 300 monuments packed into half a kilometre at the heart of the city, Valletta is a must for culture. St John's Co-Cathedral is one of Malta's most popular attractions or you can admire the pre-historic exhibits at the National Museum of Archaeology. Explore the underground passages at Auberge de Castille or escape to the harbour-side Baracca Gardens. Drive to Popeye Village at Anchor Bay, tour the ancient cities of Mdina and Mosta, or marvel at the Megalithic Temples of Malta.
