Day 2: Porto Mahon, Spain
Porto Mahon is the capital of the Balearic island of Menorca and sits on the island's east coast. Sail past old forts and picturesque islands and coves as you approach the sheltered natural harbour. Admire Fortaleza de La Mola at the harbour entrance and discover Menorca's unique history at Museu de Menorca. Meander through the old town streets to the spacious Placa Espanya town square; then admire the 18th-century neo-classical Iglesia del Carmen church and explore the traditional market in the adjacent Placa del Carme. Sample the locally-produced gin at Xoriguer distillery or admire the local marine life on a glass-bottom boat tour.
Day 3: Alghero, Italy
The medieval port city of Alghero sits on the northwest coast of Sardinia. Ancient seawalls encircle the vibrant piazzas, bars, restaurants and cobblestoned streets of the Alguer Vella old town. Catalan Gothic buildings such as Cattedrale di Santa Maria, Palazzo Guillot, Campanile, and Chiesa de San Francesco are just waiting to be enjoyed too. Day 4: Cagliari, Italy
Cagliari is the capital of the Italian island of Sardinia. Golden-hued palazzi, domes and buildings wind their way up the rocky hillside to Il Castello and the Old Town district. Stroll along the tree-lined boulevards by the seafront Marina. Stop by the impressive Cattedrale di Santa Maria or step back in time at Museo Archaeologico Nazionale. Take the lift from Piazza della Costituzione to Bastione San Remy for sweeping views. Spend a few hours soaking up the sun on Poetto Beach or enjoy a glimpse of local life at Mercato di San Benedetto. A visit to the pink flamingos at Parco di Molentargius is a must-do too.
Day 5: Trapani, Italy
The lively port of Trapani is located in northwest Sicily at the foot of Monte Erice. Explore the heart of the city and stop by the picturesque Chiesa del Purgatorio, home to the impressive 18th-century Misteri. Enjoy the views from the 17th-century Torre di Ligny watchtower and step indoors to admire the artefacts at Museo di Preistoria e del Mare. Soak up the sun on the beautiful beaches south of Trapani or scuba dive at the tropical Egadi Islands. Venture to the town gates to admire the windmills that lie on the giant salt fields offshore. Day 6 - 7: Sorrento, Italy
This stunning coastal town of Sorrento is situated in south-western Italy and faces the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas, it’s known for sweeping water views, buzzing bars, and delicious pizzas. Explore the narrow alleys of Piazza Tasso and gaze in awe at the 14th-century Chiesa di San Francesco or revel in the rich history at Museo Correale. Walk along the sandy stretch at Marina Grande harbour or visit the stunning natural phenomenon Vallone dei Mulini.
Day 8: Rome, Italy to UK
Disembark in Rome and enjoy a transfer to the airport.
