P&O Cruises' Ventura is a large, modern ship designed for both families and couples. This spacious vessel offers the luxurious Oasis Spa, adult-only The Retreat, and lively Fortunes Casino, as well as lots of activities for youngsters found around the children's pool.
On Ventura, you can enjoy four swimming pools, 12 restaurants and cafes, and eleven lounges and bars. Relax with a drink on a sun lounger, join in dance and shuffleboard sessions, or enjoy a facial and massage treatment. There are also shops, pub quizzes, and plenty of places to enjoy the seascape and read a book.
In the evening, dine on traditional and creative cuisines before watching West end-style shows, comedy acts and cabarets. Adults can also visit Havana — a Cuban-themed nightclub — and Fortunes Casino until late.
Sail the world in style with families, friends and partners on Ventura.
Ventura offers you a wide range of dining choices with individual menus and exquisite flavours. The main dining rooms — Cinnamon, Saffron and Bay Tree Restaurants — offer extensive menus of high-quality courses including oak-smoked salmon, classic Beef Wellington and Champagne sorbet. You can also enjoy a traditional afternoon tea featuring finger sandwiches, cakes, clotted cream, jam, and tea or coffee.
Waterside is Ventura's informal, self-service restaurant which offers a range of foods from across the world, as well as a late-night bar serving sandwiches, paninis, cakes, biscuits, and pastries. The Epicurean creates classic British favourites — such as Shepherd's Pie, glazed lamb, poached lobster, and apple crumble — while Sindhu serves fine Indian cuisine. The Glass House is the place to go for tapas, steaks and burgers, or try The Beach House for Cuban pulled pork and American baby-back ribs. Tazzine is ideal for coffee and light lunches. You also have a poolside grill, pizzeria and ice cream bar.
On Ventura, you have plenty of places to enjoy a drink, including The Red Bar which offers cocktails, champagne and relaxing piano music. The Exchange is the ship's urban bar featuring beer, quizzes and live bands; while Metropolis is your stylish venue with floor-to-ceiling video wall and live jazz music. Tamarind Club and Havana Bar serve a range of cocktails and spirits alongside dancing and live bands until late.
During the day, there are arts and sports activities to keep adults entertained, as well as plenty of games hosted by the various kids' clubs. In the evening, the buzz of Fortunes Casino is a highlight of Ventura. Experience the bright lights of Las Vegas with its electric atmosphere, flashing slot machines and popular roulette wheel. The two-deck theatre stages spectacular performances including cabarets, West End-style shows, and film screenings, while Tamarind Club offers the ideal spot for dancing. Cuban-themed Havana Bar features a stage, dancefloor, karaoke, DJ sessions, live bands, and salsa music to enjoy until the early hours. Throughout the ship, you can also find comedy acts, live piano music, tribute bands, dance classes, and pub quizzes.
Day 1: Southampton, UK
Arrive in Southampton and embark on board P&O Ventura
Day 5: Madeira, Portugal
When you embark on one of our Madeira cruises it will become clear why this destination is known as the Garden Island - it is simply awash with colour from a breathtaking display of sub-tropical plants and flowers. So it is hardly surprising that large and colourful flower markets are one of the most arresting features of Funchal, Madeira’s capital.
Cruise visitors here will discover that the market town is easily walkable although, the further inland you explore, the steeper and narrower some of the streets become. Locally made wicker furniture, lacework and tapestries all make good buys along with the ubiquitous Madeira wine.
Funchal is also the base for tours to the islands botanical gardens; the fishing village of Camara de Lobos where Churchill went to paint; Camacha, the wicker centre; the levada walks, part of an ancient irrigation system; and to Reids Hotel for traditional afternoon tea, making cruises to Madeira a must see.
Day 6: La Palma, Spain
As you will discover on our cruises to La Palma, the island’s most spectacular volcanic crater, Caldera de Taburiente, is crammed with rare animal and plant life and has been designated a national park. Its night skies are so clear that a major astrophysical observatory has been built at Roque de los Muchachos. With such a variety of destinations to explore, La Palma cruises offer visitors here a memorable day.
Day 7: Gran Canaria, Canary Islands
The Canary island of Gran Canaria is famous for its beaches, water sports, food, and marine life. Beach lovers will delight in a day spent sunbathing, watching people body board, and enjoy a mojito or two on the promenade at Playa de las Canteras beach. Learn how to paddle board, surf, or scuba dive in Arguineguin where there’s also a collection of shisha bars. Adventurers delight as you hike Caldera de Bandama and admire the views that extend the entire north-east and central areas of the island – and on the way down enjoy a well-earned glass of Rioja at the nearby Vino Del Monte. Get close with wildlife and see dolphins, turtles, seals, toucans, and much more at Palmitos Park – the biggest zoological park in the Canary Islands. Or, swap seals for slides at Aqualand Water Park which is only ten minutes away from the Zoo.
Day 8: Lanzarote, Canary Islands
The ship drops anchor today on the island of Lanzarote. Admire Castillo San Gabriel and Castillo San Jose that form the backdrop to Arrecife harbour. The beautiful golden sand of Playa del Reducto is ideal for a morning's sunbathing, or take a stroll along the seafront promenade to the peaceful Playa del Cable. Venture inland to explore the landscape of Timanfaya National Park's fire mountains or uncover the spectacular natural concert hall and subterranean lagoon at Cueva de Los Verdes.
Day 11: La Coruna, Spain
La Coruña overlooks the Bay of Coruña in the north-west corner of Spain. Step ashore and visit the Tower of Hercules, Castillo de San Anton, and Castillo de San Diego. Explore the Roman wall, historical buildings and the medieval Church of Santiago in Ciudad Vieja. Get a culture hit at the Museum of Sacred Art, Archaeological Museum and Military Museum. People-watch at La Marina and Plaza Maria Pita, or relax on the Playa Riazor and Playa del Orzan beaches. Enjoy some family fun at Aquarium Finisterrae, Science Museum and Domus — an interactive museum. Venture further afield to visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Santiago de Compostela, Betanzos and Ferrol.
Day 13: Southampton, UK
Disembark in Southampton and make your way home.
