Overview Itinerary
The Ship
Ms Prinsendam joined the Holland America Line in 2002. From the moment you step aboard this intimate ship you feel like you're sailing on a classic yacht with the space of a cruise ship! The signature glass sculpture in the atrium, the famous name paintings on the walls, and the collection of Roman Amphorae add to the ship’s stylish ambience. Nine passenger decks are filled with lively entertainment venues, modern leisure facilities and mouth-watering restaurants. Days at sea are the perfect time to make the most of the facilities. Looking to relax? Unwind in the Lido Pool or enjoy a revitalising massage in Greenhouse Spa & Salon. Feeling active? Shape up in the well-equipped fitness centre or head to the sports deck for a game of shuffleboard or run around the jogging track. Ms Prinsendam sails to destinations across Europe, South America and the Caribbean, so you can enjoy an eclectic mix of adventures, activities and famous sights alongside dedicated services and comfortable staterooms on board. Relax around Lido Pool, unwind in a hot tub, enjoy a drink from the terrace bar, and indulge in a massage. You can get expert advice about how to create and edit your holiday photos to make a scrapbook at Digital Workshop, or enjoy some aerobics, shopping and tennis as you sail. With meals including Alaskan salmon, garlic shrimp ravioli and fine wines to enjoy on board; dining on ms Maasdam is a great experience. In the evening, enjoy live shows or head to the stylish casino — kids even have club activities to keep them entertained! With stunning interiors, spacious staterooms and dedicated services, ms Maasdam offers a memorable cruising experience.

Food
Discover a world of flavours in ms Prinsendam's restaurants. La Fontaine Dining Room curves around the Lower Promenade Deck and serves a varied menu of dishes to your table, with the option of set seating and dining times or "As You Wish" dining. The ship's signature restaurant Pinnacle Grill is the perfect setting to enjoy freshly grilled premium steaks and seafood delights. Savour authentic Italian-inspired pastas, pizzas and sharing platters at Canaletto Restaurant.

Fly from your chosen UK airport to Fort Lauderdale. Upon arrival take a coach transfer to the port to board ms Prinsendam and set sail for Madeira.
Day 2 - 9: At Sea
Day 10 - 11: Funchal, Madeira
It is very easy to see why Madeira has gained the name of 'The Garden Island'. Lush greenery with an array of tropical fruits, this island is a favourite on many cruise itineraries. Take gondola ride to the mountain village of Monte to experience some of the most breathtaking views of the island, then take the thrilling way down on a local toboggan, winding and bending over the cobbles; this is something you won’t want to miss. For wine lovers, venture out into the vineyards and experience some of the famous wine of the region.
Day 12: Santa Cruz, Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the island's best kept secrets. Santa Cruz De Tenerife, known locally as Santa Cruz, is a bustling centre of culture and activity. Visit the Museum of Man and Nature and discover the evolution of the Canary Islands. Alternatively, head to the award-winning Loro Parque wildlife park and come face-to-face with amazing animals and exotic birds. Head down to the Downtown Santa Cruz shopping district and enjoy a superb range of shops and tapas bars. Soak up the sun on the golden sands of La Teresitas beach or hike around the surrounding mountains and savour the picturesque views.
Day 13: Santa Cruz, La Palma

Travel south to marvel at the stunning scenery and colourful flora at San Antonio Volcano.
Day 14: Arrecife, Lanzarote
Today the ship drops anchor at Arrecife on the Canarian island of Lanzarote. Two splendid castles form the backdrop to the harbour - the 15th-century Castillo San Gabriel and 17th-century Castillo San Jose. The beautiful golden sands of Playa de Reducto are the perfect place to spend a few hours sunbathing. Venture inland to explore the lunar landscapes of Timanfaya National Park's fire mountains, Cesar Manrique's unique Jardin de Cactus on the outskirts of Guatiza, and Jameos Del Agua cave.
Day 15: Agadir, Morocco
Sitting at the foot of the Anti-Atlas Mountains alongside the Atlantic Ocean in Morocco; the southern coast resort of Agadir is a vibrant place to visit. Spend time hiking to the hilltop Kasbah to gaze at the medieval architecture and catch a bird’s eye view of the city, which was destroyed by an earthquake and received a modern re-build in the sixties. Wander the avenues lined with palm trees and high-rise hotels which contrast with traditional minarets and bustling bazaars. Visit the beautiful stretch of beach for a peaceful afternoon's sunbathing and swimming. Get up close to the crocodiles at Crocopark east of the city or go on a birdwatching trip amongst the pink flamingoes, ducks, herons, and cormorants at Souss-Massa National Park.
Day 16: Casablanca, Morocco
The Moroccan city of Casablanca blends old and new in glorious style. Discover a vibrant mix of local bazaars and temples infused with a French colonial twist. Take in the sights of this marvellous city and visit the Hassan II Mosque, the bustling Medina and Central Market, Cathedral du Sacre Coeur, and the idyllic Place Mohamed V. Stroll along the beachfront Corniche and enjoy the picturesque scenery. Travel to the nearby sleepy seaside city of Mohammedia and further afield to the ancient port of Safi.
Day 17: Tangier, Morocco
Tangier is situated on the Strait of Gibraltar, the most northern point of Morocco. This port city is rich in history and culture. Stroll through the old city ‘medina’ of Tangier and visit the stalls, shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, and the five storey-high Tangier American Legation Museum. Relax with a coffee and soak in the blend of Andalusian, Moorish and Moroccan architecture. Venture uphill to the ancient fortress of Kasbah for scenic views over the city or to discover the ancient relics and artefacts at the Kasbah Museum. Travel further afield to the stunning Grottoes of Hercules in Cape Spartel, just 14km to the west of Tangier.
Day 18: Portimao, Portugal
The Port of Portimao is situated on the southern coast of Portugal, through the river mouth of the Arade River. The long strip of bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants along the promenade offer a selection of cuisines in a variety of themes. Heading inland, you’ll find plenty of shopping streets and a series of historic buildings. 3km to the south of Portimao city lies Praia da Rocha; a modern town packed with the facilities you’d expect from a beachside resort. The Port of Portimao is also just 20km away from nearby town Lagos. Learn about the history of the region with its charming buildings and peaceful ambience.
