Overview Itinerary
The Ship
RV La Marguerite is a boutique river ship with provides an intimate and comfortable setting for a cruise along the Mekong River. Setting sail with a guest to staff ratio of 2:1, the ship offers superior service and a personalised experience where you'll soon feel at home. The luxurious and stylish interior is inspired by the colonial era with an added contemporary edge. The sophisticated design and facilities ensure you'll have a relaxing and thrilling experience. There's exquisite dining, elegant social areas, an indulgent spa, and a spacious sun deck. The suites are conveniently designed with comfort in mind and offer a luxurious feel.

Food
The Mekong Restaurant is air-conditioned and boasts panoramic sea views. The restaurant serves delicious local and international cuisine which is freshly prepared by the skilled chef on board. Enjoy complimentary wine served with lunch and dinner.

Drink
The Saigon Lounge and Bar serves has an extensive drinks menu which serves local beer, spirits and soft drinks. Sip on your refreshing drink as you engage with other guests, or take your drink into the Panoramic Lounge for spectacular views. Up on the sun deck, the bar serves a range of drink options for you to enjoy as you lounge in the sun.

Entertainment
Spend your days relaxing on the sun deck; top up your tan, watch out at the picturesque scenery, or take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool. Take the relaxation inside to the comfortable spa, or pump up the temp in the fitness centre. Take out a book from the on-board library or buy your souvenirs in the gift shop. Enjoy entertainment on stage in the Saigon Lounge for fun-filled evenings.
Day 1: Depart London
Today you will board your flight from London Heathrow to Siem Reap in Angkor.
Day 2: Arrive Siem Reap, Angkor
On arrival in Siem Reap, Angkor, you'll be met and transferred to the prestigious Shinta Mani Resort. This is where you'll spend the next three evenings.
Day 3 - Siem Reap
Join today's Insider Experience where you can pay a visit to the Opportunities of Development thru Art OODA project which provides support and education for underprivileged children. There is also the chance to explore Ta Prohm's intertwining trees. This evening, join your fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner, before enjoying a traditional Apsara dance performance.
Day 4 - Siem Reap
This morning, take your pick from one of Travelmarvel’s select experiences. This afternoon, visit Angkor Archaeological Park and explore its ancient wonders including the temple Bayon. End the day watching the sunset over the iconic Angkor Wat.
Day 5: Siem Reap to Prek K’dam, Embark Ship
Embark on your river cruise after a transfer to Prek K'dam. Cruise along the mighty Mekong River on board the RV La Marguerite. This evening, you'll be greeted by a delicious on board Welcome Dinner where you'll be tempted by Asian and Western flavours.
Day 6: Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Tralach, and Oudong
You have the option of joining the Insider Experience to experience an ox-cart ride, a popular method of transport in rural Cambodia, and travel to the former royal capital of Oudong for a traditional Buddhist blessing. You can also choose a small-boat excursion of the wetlands near Kampong Chhnang, passing a number of fishing villages along the route. You'll then re-join the ship as it sails towards Kampong Tralach.
Day 7: Koh Chen, Phnom Penh
Step ashore today in the small village of Koh Chen. Visit the workshops which specialise in silver and copperware to learn more how these products are created. Board the ship, then continue on to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital.
Day 8: Phnom Penh
Today you arrive at Phnom Penh. Discover the bustling riverfront on foot or tour the nearby food markets to experience the local cuisine. Take a tuk tuk to explore the city's colonial buildings, the Central Market, and its art deco architecture. Alternatively, you can join an excursion to the Killing Fields and tour Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum which is set on the site of the Khmer Rouge's infamous Security Prison 21. You can also take an afternoon trip to view the amazing Royal Palace complex.
Day 9: Border Crossing, Tan Chau
Spend your day enjoying the facilities on board the ship, including a fruit-carving demonstration, as you cross the Vietnamese border.
Day 10: Tan Chau, Sa Dec
Arrive in Tan Chau where you'll transfer to a small boat to travel along the tiny tributaries and admire the villages made up of stilt houses along the way. Step foot ashore and enjoy a rickshaw tour through Tan Chau and its lush scenery.
Day 11: Sa Dec, Cai Be
The day starts with an early morning boat ride to Sa Dec. Enjoy a tour of Huynh Thuy Le's old house - the former lover of French writer Marguerite Duras and the namesake of your cruise ship RV La Marguerite. After lunch, step aboard a local boat to travel to the river-land town of Cai Be. Admire the French Gothic Cathedral and visit a local rice paper manufacturer to learn about the rice paper-making process. Return to the ship for a tasty dinner on board.
Day 12: Disembark Ship, Cu Chi Tunnels, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Arrive at My Tho Port in Ho Chi Minh City where you'll disembark the ship. You'll then travel by coach to the Cu Chi Tunnels - a tunnel network built during the Vietnam War by Vietnamese resistance fighters - before checking into the modern Fusion Suites Saigon for a two-night stay.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City
Spend the end of your trip exploring Vietnam's vibrant Ho Chi Minh City at your own pace. Pay a visit to the Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, and the Reunification Palace. Shop for bargains and local handicrafts in the bustling Binh Tay Market and enjoy the light-hearted entertainment at the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre. View the poignant exhibits at the War Remnants Museum and uncover the country's historical past at the Museum of Vietnamese History. Enjoy a farewell dinner at KOTO Kumho this evening to mark the end of your trip.
Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City to UK
Today you'll be transferred to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
Day 15: Arrive London
Arrive back into London Heathrow after your overnight flight from Ho Chi Minh City.
