Overview Itinerary
The Ship
Costa Diadema created a real splash when she sailed into the Costa Cruises’ fleet in November 2014. This Dream-class ship is undoubtedly the cruise line's 'Jewel in the Crown' - combining a relaxed Italian-style hospitality, royal theme, innovative features, and luxury furnishings with over 8,000 prints and original works of art inspired by Italian Renaissance art and contemporary pop culture. The fourteen decks showcase 1,862 stylish cabins and suites, seven restaurants and 11 bars, three swimming pools and eight Jacuzzis, the Samsara Spa, 4D cinema, Grand Prix Simulator, interactive laser zone, and a vibrant entertainment scene. On top of this, the ship drops anchor most mornings at some fascinating ports of call, opening up a world of sightseeing, adventures, and culinary and cultural options ashore.

Food
Discover mouth-watering culinary experiences on board Costa Diadema. Adularia and Fiorentino restaurants are the ship's two main dining rooms; Fiorentino offers open-seating at breakfast and lunch and two sittings at dinner with a tasty menu of international dishes. Adularia opens for open-seating dinner each day and occasional lunch times on sea days. Casual-style serve-yourself dining is available throughout the daytime in Corona Blu restaurant; in the evening the restaurant transforms into an open-seating, informal eatery serving the same menu as the two dining rooms. You can also feast on authentic Italian pizzas at the Piazza Pizza and gelato and a chocolate fountain at Gelateria Amarillo. Alternatively, reserve a table at the a la carte Club Diadema for sophisticated culinary delights, dine Japanese-style at Tavola Teppanyaki, or choose healthy options at Samsara Restaurant - all located around the Piazza on Deck Five.

Drink
People watch with a drink at Eliodoro Bar overlooking the bustling Eliodoro atrium. Savour alfresco drinks gazing across the water at Stella del Sud Bar or head to Bollicine Bar for Italian prosecco, spritzes, and hors d'oeuvres. Live oompah music sets the scene for drinking steins of beer in the Birrera Dresden Green beer hall. Sip cocktails as you enjoy piano music and live entertainment at Principe Nero Piano Bar or take a spin around the dance floor in Grand Bar Orlov. Relax with a glass of Italian wine, cheese, and salami at Vinoteca Gran Duca di Toscana or savour vintage cognacs and cigars in the elegant Cigar Lounge. With its stage, dance floor, live entertainment, and karaoke, Teodora Lounge and Bar is the perfect place to spend the evening.

Entertainment
During the daytime, unwind in the Thalassotherapy pool at Samsara Spa or work on your tan by one of the trio of pools. Discover fun times for tots to teens in Squok Club, Virtual World, and the kids' pool with pirate ship and castle. Teens and adults can meet the challenge of Star Laser, with its interactive Lazer Maze and Laser Shooting simulator, and the Grand Prix simulator. After dinner, the three-deck high Emerald Theatre presents an exciting line-up of acrobatic and dance performances and live music. Discover the 1950s vibe and live country and rock music in Country Rock Club. Enjoy family time and the latest film releases at the 4D Cinema. Dice with Lady Luck at the slot machines and gaming tables at Golden Jubilee Casino. Bring your day to a close in style with dancing until late in the two-level Pietra di Luna Disco.
Day 1: UK - Barcelona, Spain
Fly from your chosen UK airport to Barcelona, Spain and be privately transferred to the cruise port.
Day 2: Palma De Mallorca, Spain
Palma sits on the south coast of Balearic island of Majorca and is the island's capital city. The streets of this vibrant port city are lined with an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, galleries, shops, and heritage buildings. Explore the narrow alleys and lanes of the old town, before spending time at the impressive Palma Cathedral. Indulge in retail therapy on Avenida Jaume III, Passeig de Born, and the streets around the Placa Major. Palma Aquarium, Bellver Castle and the Joan Miro Foundation are well worth a visit, too. The dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows at Marineland and Poble Espanyol — a collection of Spain's famous buildings in miniature — are great for family times. Or why not take a scenic train ride to the town of Soller or travel inland to the Caves of Drach?
Day 3: At Sea
Day 4: Palermo, Italy
A bustling, noisy port, Palermo yet holds an unrivalled display of Norman art and architecture and Baroque churches, combined with a warren of medieval streets and markets. With Sicily’s greatest concentration of sights, and the biggest historic centre in Italy bar Rome, Palermo is a complex, multilayered port that can easily feel overwhelming if you try to do or see too much in one Mediterranean cruise visit. The best thing to do here is just to wander as the fancy takes you, sifting through Palermo’s jumbled layers of crumbling architecture, along deserted back alleys, then suddenly emerging in the midst of an ebullient street market.
Day 5: Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy
Spend the day exploring the charming port of Civitavecchia and Rome — an ancient city filled with famous landmarks, distinct architecture and influential art. Visit Civitavecchia's main public square — Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II — and see the Baroque cathedral dedicated to St. Francis, before taking a seat in a pavement cafe for a taste of the local seafood. In Rome, enjoy a gladiator experience at the grand Colosseum, view the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum, and throw three coins in the Trevi Fountain. Pay a visit to the Vatican City — the home of the Catholic Church — and see St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's ceiling.
Day 6: Savona, Italy
Savona sits on the Mediterranean coastline of northern Italy's Liguria region. Take a leisurely stroll around the harbour and view the modern yachts and old-fashioned fishing boats en-route to the beach on Corso Vittorio Veneto. Pay a visit to the nearby 15th-century Fortezza del Priamar with the fascinating Pinacoteca Civica and Archaeological Museum of Savona inside. Admire the monumental Torre Leon Pancaldo and the stunning Cattedrale di Nostra Signora Assunta. Indulge in retail therapy at Centro Commerciale Il Gabbiano. Step inside the Rococo-style Capella Sistina to gaze in awe at the beautiful ceiling painted by Paola Geralamo Brusco.
Day 7: Marseille, France
Marseilles sits on the Cote d'Azur on the south coast of France. Meander around the Vieux-Port and watch the fishermen land their day's catch, before heading uphill to explore the local artisan boutiques and art galleries in Le Panier old quarter. Pay a visit to Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde and Cathedrale de la Major de Marseille. Step back in time at Musee des Civilisation de l'Europe et de la Mediterranee (MuCEM) and Musee d'Histoire de Marseille. Spend some time enjoying the grand park, 19th-century water features, and museums at Palais Longchamp. Take a short ferry ride to admire the 16th-century Chateau d'If fortress.
Day 8-10: Barcelona, Spain
Disembark the ship and be privately transferred to the 4* Hotel 4 Barcelona for your 3 night post cruise stay.
Day 11: Barcelona, Spain - UK
