Rex Rheni was launched in 1979 and welcomed into the Saga River Cruises fleet in 2013. This intimate and friendly river cruise ship was refurbished in 2017 and sails along the waterways of Germany, Belgium, Holland, and beyond with a maximum of 151 guests and 25 crew members on board. Unpack and settle into your comfortable cabin; complete with air-conditioning, a seating area, storage space, permanent twin beds, television, telephone to reception, reading lights, wardrobe, safe, and shower room with WC. Explore the four decks - the Sun Deck complete with sun chairs, fitness cycle, table tennis and deck quoits; Promenade Deck with its bar and lounge; Main Deck with its reception, restaurant and galley; and the cabin-lined Passenger Deck. Rex Rheni's compact size means she can take you to the heart of Europe's famous cities and ports; where you can join an organised excursion or see the sights at your own speed on foot.
Picture windows and ever-changing scenery form the perfect backdrop to your breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the spacious restaurant. The menu includes a varied selection of tasty local and international dishes. Lunch and dinner also come with complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks to enhance your enjoyment of the delicious food.
The lounge/bar is the social hub of the ship and is the ideal spot to relax with your morning coffee or a reviving drink after a busy day ashore. There is also a small library here and picture windows to make the most of the views. The bar is well-stocked with all your favourite drinks, which you can enjoy while socialising with new-found friends before or after dinner. You may also help yourself to complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day at the lounge's drinks station.
Rex Rheni offers something to keep you entertained both day and night. Relax on a sun chair on the Sun Deck and soak up the sunshine and unfolding riverside views. Lose yourself in a book in the small library; keep in shape on the fitness cycle, or partner up for a fun game of table tennis or deck quoits. For a small charge, you can also make use of the Wi-Fi Internet access to keep in touch. Days in port focus on exploring the local culture, cuisine, and attractions on organised excursions or independently at your own pace. The lounge/bar is the heart of the ship and the setting for impromptu games and quizzes with the cruise director during the daytime, followed by piano music, dancing, and occasion performances from visiting local artistes after dinner.
