Day 3: Bilbao, Spain
Discover the cosmopolitan Basque city and lively port of Bilbao. Surrounded by verdant green mountains, this city in northern Spain is home to the breathtaking modern and contemporary art at the Guggenheim Museum. Sample authentic tapas dishes in the family-run restaurants that line Casco Viejo, Bilbao's vibrant old quarter, and shop for handmade souvenirs at quirky independent boutiques. The modern transport links provide easy access to the two other capitals of the Basque Country — Vitoria and San Sebastián.
Day 4: La Coruna, Spain

Immerse yourself in culture at Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and National Museum of Contemporary Art, or enjoy the colourful marine life at Oceanarium. Take a vintage tram ride through the city's cobbled streets, admiring Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower on the way. Haggle for bargains at the lively Thieves Market, or explore designer shops on Rua do Carmo, Rua Garrett and Avenida da Liberdade.
Venture further afield and discover the fairytale places and ornate villas in Sintra or go dolphin-watching in Setúbal.
Day 7: Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a vibrant slice of Britain at the heart of the sunny Mediterranean. Day 9: Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Palma sits on the south coast of Balearic island of Majorca and is the island's capital city. The streets of this vibrant port city are lined with an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, galleries, shops, and heritage buildings. Explore the narrow alleys and lanes of the old town, before spending time at the impressive Palma Cathedral.
