Overview Itinerary
The Ship
Marella Discovery 2 sailed into the Marella Cruises' fleet in summer 2017. The ship offers the all inclusive concept and eleven decks featuring a five-storey high atrium, six restaurants and seven bars, and luxury cabins and suites. Days at sea are all about relaxing by the two large pools and built-in hot tubs or escaping to The Veranda for adult-only sunbathing. Shape up in Oceans Gym or indulge in a massage at Oceans Spa and Beauty Salon. The Baby Centre, Kids' Club, and The Hide Out entertain tots to teens. Play a round on the mini golf course or scale the heights of the rock-climbing wall. Visit Break Out & Escape puzzle room or play video games in Gamerzone. The fun continues after dark with a vibrant bar, dining, and entertainment scene. Step ashore at your ports of call and explore the sights independently or join an organised excursion.

Food
The stylish 47 eatery spans two decks and serves up a waiter-served menu of traditional culinary fare and sea views. Step up to the upper floor to savour Italian-inspired dishes at Gallery 47. Islands restaurant is the spot for buffet-style dishes and live cooking stations serving omelettes at breakfast and carvery roasts at dinner. Stop by the British beach huts and festival food stalls in Snack Shack to tuck into everything from bacon butties to sweet chilli chicken wings. The Glass House has a dual personality; offering deli-style snacks and freshly-squeezed juices by day and tapas and steaks cooked over hot stones in the evening. Treat yourself to gourmet culinary experiences at the a la carte eateries - Kora La serves pan-Asian specialities to your table or sashimi, nigiri, and Asian beers at the Sushi Bar; Surf & Turf Steakhouse specialises in marbled steaks, succulent lobster tails, and vegetarian options.

Drink
Soak up the laid-back atmosphere over fresh-brewed Lavazza coffee and a slice of cake at The Coffee Port. Sip refreshing poolside drinks at Deck Bar or take a seat in Atrium Bar for a glass of bubbly. Visit Bar Eleven — at the ship's highest point on Deck 11 — to enjoy contemporary cocktails and a late-night disco. Live Room is the ship's flagship bar, with an impressive selection of draught beers and cocktails.

Marella Discovery 2 really comes to life after dark. Make yourself comfortable in the 800-seater Broadway Show Lounge to enjoy a choice of elevent unique show performances on stage. Day 1: UK to Bangkok, Thailand
Fly from your chosen UK airport to Bangkok and be transferred to the port to board Marella Discovery 2 for your fourteen night cruise.
Day 2: Bangkok, Thailand
Disembark your ship at Laem Chabang — the gateway to Bangkok. Thailand is a country of ancient culture and traditions, and its capital city blends these perfectly with modern influences. Visit Grand Palace beside Chao Phyra River or float along the canals to see the city. Bangkok is home to stunning temples and pagodas that you can see during your time here, too. Wat Traimit is home to a 700-year-old Buddha statue crafted from solid gold, while the city's oldest temple — Wat Pho — houses Bangkok's largest Buddha figure whose feet are decorated with mother-of-pearl. There's also the beautiful Wat Benchamabophit, which is otherwise known as the Marble Temple. Stroll through colourful markets, sample Thai noodles and relax at the many cafes and bars that create Bangkok's energetic atmosphere.
Day 3: Sihanoukville, Cambodia
Located in southwest Cambodia, Sihanoukville is known for its beaches, beautiful tropical islands, and mangrove jungles. Set around a port on a peninsula jutting into the Gulf of Thailand, discover many tempting seafood restaurants and late-night bars. Ream National Park boasts much beauty to be discovered and Ou Chheuteal Beach is brimming with friendly cafes, bars, and exciting boating experiences. Backpack through Koh Ta Kiev; the biggest of a small group of Cambodian islands or uncover Koh Tang's engaging military past of the Vietnam War in 1975. The gold-hued Buddhist temple of Leu Pagoda is positioned at the top of a hill and boasts scenic views you won't forget easily. Shop for mouth-watering fresh seafood and unique handmade souvenirs at the popular Phsar Leu Market or enjoy a peaceful stroll to Kbal Chhay Waterfall.
Day 4: At Sea
Day 5: Phu My, Vietnam
The Vietnamese port of Phu My is the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City. Travel to Ho Chi Minh to discover cultural landmarks including the famous temples of Jade Emperor Pagoda or Tran Hung Dao Temple. Visit the Reunification Palace - the site of the end of the Vietnam War - and learn more about the Vietnam War with astonishing historic exhibitions at the War Remnants Museum. Be amazed by the spectacular views whilst indulging in the finest food and drinks at one of the most famous luxury hotels, The Rex Rooftop Bar. Get amongst the hustle and bustle of the city by visiting the Ben Thanh Market and pick up souvenirs in the form of clothing, luggage, and handicrafts, or try the delicious spring roll and crispy pancake street food.

Day 7: Malacca, Malaysia
Malacca City is located in South West Malaysia and is a UNESCO world heritage site known for its charm and rich trading history. This tranquil city is best explored on foot and Jonker Street in Chinatown is where you'll come across the vibrant night market complete with a wide selection of stalls and a buzzing street party atmosphere. One of Malacca's most defining structures is the Christ Church with its iconic red bricks and the huge white cross. Pay a visit to the remains of the 15th-century A'Famosa Fort and explore the 17th-century Chinese Cheng Hoon Teng temple and the 18th-century Kampung Kling Mosque. Drop by the Malacca Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary or take a trip to the uniquely popular Orangutan House museum to browse the local artwork.
Day 8 - 9: Langkawi, Malaysia
Langkawi is an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, just 30km off the north-western shore of Malaysia. Ride the SkyCab to the summit of Mount Mat Cincang before taking the mountain walk to the SkyBridge for awesome views. Pay a visit to the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls and the Beach of Black Sand. Take a boat trip to Tasik Dayang Bunting Lake and the Gua Cerita and Gua Langsir caves. Go snorkelling amongst colourful fish and coral at Pulau Payar Marine Park; enjoy a mangrove tour at Kilim Geopark; or encounter 5000 marine species at Underwater World Langkawi.
Day 10: Penang, Thailand
Penang is located alongside the Strait of Malacca on the north-western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Comprising two parts - Penang Island with its capital George Town and Seberang Perai on the Malay Peninsula. Ride a trishaw around the bustling streets and discover authentic local cuisine at the China House shophouses in Road Town. Travel on the cable car up Penang Hill or climb the 500 steps to Waterfall Hilltop Temple for stunning views. Explore the tropical oasis of herbs and spices at the Tropical Spice Garden or admire the winged beauties at the Butterfly Farm. While away a few hours at Batu Ferringhi beach or enjoy outdoor activities at ESCAPE theme park. Say a prayer at the Street of Harmony or gaze in awe at Wat Chayamangkalaram - Asia's largest reclining Buddha.
Day 11: Phuket, Thailand
The ship drops anchor today on the island of Phuket. Be sure to head to the picturesque Patong Beach along the western coast — perhaps the most popular attraction. Take a short drive and see the famous Simon Cabaret show with its full ladyboy cast. For gorgeous scenic views over the island visit the Big Buddha statue or watch the sunset from Promthep Cape. Take a trip through the historical Old Phuket Town with its various cafes, restaurants, museums, shrines and temples. A visit to 19th-century Wat Chalong Temple is a truly magical experience.
Day 12 - 14: At Sea
Day 15: Cochin, Kerala to UK
Today your cruise comes to an end. Disembark and be transferred back to the airport for your return flight back to the UK.
