After checkout make your way to the cruise port where you will embark on board MSC Bellissima.
Day 4: Messina, Italy
The gateway to Mount Etna, Messina, is the third-largest port in Sicily. This city — which was used to film part of the film 'The Godfather' — is famous for its museums and architectural beauty. Drive up the side of nearby Mount Etna on a day trip or wander around the many shops along Messina's wide boulevards to look at Sicilian pottery and art pieces. Black volcanic glass from Mount Etna features heavily in Sicilian jewellery and makes a great souvenir. Visit Norman Messina Cathedral to see its beautiful, 15th-century windows and astronomical clock tower, before walking by the stunning marble fountains — Fontana di Orione and Neptune Fountain — which are decorated with mythical creatures and gods. Day 5: Valletta, Malta
Malta's small capital city — Valletta — sits within the city's original walls on a hillside and is known for its old churches, palaces and museums. Formerly ruled by the French, Italians, Spanish, and British; this UNESCO World Heritage site is filled with more than 300 historical monuments — making it one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world! Stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets of its old town district and see the famous Maltese-decorated balconies. Walk the iconic Las Ramblas promenade and see quirky street entertainers or stop for a coffee at a pavement cafe. View some of Antoni Gaudi's most famous works including the Sagrada Família Church and the mosaic wall in Park Güell. Explore the winding streets of the Gothic quarter and sample tapas in a traditional bar or relax in the city's biggest green space — Park Ciutadel.
Day 8: Marseille, France
Marseille sits on the Cote d'Azur on the south coast of France. Meander around the Vieux-Port and watch the fishermen land their day's catch, before heading uphill to explore the local artisan boutiques and art galleries in Le Panier old quarter. Pay a visit to Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde and Cathedrale de la Major de Marseille. Step ashore today at the lively Italian port of Genoa. Ride the Il Bigo elevator at the Old Harbour to enjoy panoramic views of the area.
