Day 3: Taipei (Keelung), Taiwan
Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is filled with bustling shopping streets, lively street-food, night markets, contemporary buildings, and traditional Japanese lanes. Admire the stunning skyline of Taipei from Elephant Mountain and see Taipei 101 in all its glory. Ascend to the 83rd floor observatory inside Taipei 101 for breath-taking views of the city. Appreciate the world’s largest Chinese Art collection at Taipei’s National Palace Museum, or take a visit to Taipei’s famous Longshan Temple to discover the vibrant and traditionally decorated landmark. Hop on a short train ride into Shifen to enjoy striking waterfall scenes, or discover Taiwan’s cultural past at Bopiliao Old Street. Finish off your day by making a wish as you release a traditional sky lantern out into the night sky at Pingxi Old Street.
Day 4: Hualien, Taiwan
Hualien is a city on the east coast of Taiwan. Visit the central Pine Garden cultural centre or see the contemporary and traditional stone carvings on display at Hualien County Stone Sculpture Museum. Admire the Chingszu Temple, Temple to the Lords of the Three Mountains, and Tungching Temple. Escape to the tranquil surrounds of Tzu Chi Cultural Park with its statues, meditation hall, and wide green spaces. Take a boat trip and go in search of indigenous whale and dolphins. No visit here would be complete without experiencing the popular night market at Nanbin Park on the Pacific Ocean coast. Many visitors to Hualien choose to venture further afield to see the impressive Taroko Gorge at the heart of the Toroko National Park.
Day 5: Kaohsiung, Taiwan
With its roots firmly in the past and with a keen eye on the future, Kaohsiung is a city that knows what it wants and is fast becoming an economic hub of the future. Take a trip to Dream Mall, the second largest shopping centre is Asia, or a trip up Monkey Mountain and see the Taiwan Macaques. For those keen to see the culture and heritage of the area, take a visit to the Confucius Temple, originally built in 1666, or to the Fokuangshan Monastery, built by Buddhist monks on top of a mountain giving an insight into the areas incredible past.
Day 7: Coron, Philippines
Coron sits on the southeast coast of Busuanga Island at the heart of the island province of Palawan. Life here centres on the water with diving, snorkelling, and island-hopping at the top of most people's to-do lists. The waters around Coren are filled with WWII shipwrecks and you can snorkel out to see the Japanese ship known as Skeleton Wreck. Hike up to the top of Mount Tapyas for stunning views over Coren Town and beyond. Head to the Manquinit Springs to bask in the saltwater hot springs before donning a snorkel to explore the coral reefs teeming with angel fish at nearby Siete Pecados Marine Park. Kayangan Lake nestles between towering limestone cliffs and is perfect for swimming. Pay a visit to the idyllic Twin Lagoons or go on a scuba diving trip to see the underwater mountains at Barracuda Lake.
Day 8: Boracay, Philippines
The small island of Boracay is located in central Philippines and is famous its stunning beaches and resorts. At just 7km long, the island is easy to explore on foot or by bike and its offshore waters are awash with coral reefs, shipwrecks, and colourful marine life. White Beach with its 4km stretch of white sands is the heartbeat of the island and is packed to brim with restaurants, bars, hotels, and dive shops. Get out on the water aboard a paraw (outrigger boat) or be adventurous with a parasail ride. Head north to Diniwid Beach for a few hours peaceful sunbathing, or venture east for water sports at Bulabog Beach and far-reaching views from the nearby Mount Luho observation deck.
Day 9-10: Manila, Philippines
Step ashore today at Manila, the capital of the Philippines and the most densely-populated city in the world. Combining Spanish colonial architecture with towering modern skyscrapers and air-conditioned shopping centres, this place boasts a fascinating heritage, vibrant nightlife, and mouth-watering local cuisine. Pay a visit to the Intramuros in the heart of Old Manila; this walled city harks back to colonial times and is home to ancient Fort Santiago and San Agustin Church. Explore local culture at Metropolitan Museum of Manila and the National Museum of the Filipino People or admire the vast collection of Imelda Marcos' shoes at Marikina Shoe Museum. Get up close to the marine life at Manila Ocean Park or enjoy the rides and attractions at Star City amusement park.
Day 12: Hong Kong, China
Hong Kong is an autonomous territory in South East China. Hong Kong has developed from a small fishing village in the 19th century to a bustling metropolis filled with high rise buildings and infused with culture. Hong Kong is a shopping paradise; discover a wide range of shopping experiences at Causeway Bay, Sheung Wan, Harbour City, Festival Walk and Tsim Sha Tsui. Dine in a traditional restaurant and sample a world of exquisite, mouthwatering local cuisine including noodles, dumplings and rice. Visit Mickey Mouse at the Disneyland Park, or relax on the white sand at Repulse Bay. Trek to Victoria Peak; the highest peak on Hong Kong Island and see one of the world's most beautiful skylines at Victoria Harbour. Visit the historical temples including Man Mo Temple and Po Lin Monastery for an insight into the local culture.
Day 13: Hong Kong, China to UK
Your cruise comes to an end in Hong Kong where you disembark the ship. Enjoy a coach transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
