Silver Shadow was a welcome addition to the Silversea Cruises fleet in 2000. This intimate and friendly, ultra-luxurious, all-suite ship sets sail with a maximum of 382 guests on board. It combines a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, thanks to its 1.3 to 1.3 staff-to-guest ratio, with tasty culinary experiences, chic guest suites and an eclectic mix of ports of call.
Complimentary beverages, gratuities, open-seating dining, transportation into town and 24-hour dining options come as standard via the all-exclusive system on board. All of which are complemented by spacious ultra-luxury suites, over 85% of which come with a private veranda, featuring indulgences such as a butler service, champagne and chocolates on arrival, Italian marble bathroom, flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi access, and an iPod docking station.
Days at sea are brimming with things to do - or not to do! Choose your spot by the pool edge and soak up the sun, luxuriate with a deep-tissue massage in the Mandara Spa, or enrich your mind with a destination seminar. Up the tempo with a session in the fitness centre, learn to tango around the dance floor, or choose your partner for a game of table tennis. Days in port open up a world of adventure and famous sights, and, thanks to its intimate size, Silver Shadow is able to drop anchor in destinations where larger vessels are unable to reach.
Culinary experiences on Silver Shadow showcase flavours from around the world. The Restaurant spans two decks and is the main open-seating dining venue. Three twinkling chandeliers and the finest crystal and porcelain set the scene for flavoursome gastronomic treats accompanied by fine wines and excellent service. Le Terraza is open for self-service breakfasts and lunches by day. At dinnertime, it transforms into an authentic reservation-only Italian eatery, which stays true to its 'Slow Food' eco-gastronomic concept. Tuck into healthy breakfasts and freshly-cooked pizzas at poolside The Grill or reserve your table here for fresh seafood and prime steaks in the evening.
The speciality restaurant takes dining to another level. Savour the intimate surroundings of Le Champagne by Relais & Chateaux and dine on the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients that reflect your voyage's destinations and regional specialities. Choose in-suite dining to enjoy course-by-course dinners with the intimacy of your own veranda.
Silver Shadow presents bars and lounges to suit your every mood. Soft sea breezes and ocean views accompany drinks in the Pool Bar. The Panorama Lounge on Deck 9 and the Observation Lounge on Deck 10 both offer a wide choice of hot and cold beverages. The Bar is the real hub of the ship. Pre-dinner, it serves a selection of complimentary canapés and hors d'oeuvres, while after dinner there's live music and dancing.
The entertainment on-board Silver Shadow is quite low-key. The Athenian Show Lounge is the setting for enrichment lectures by day, as well as small production shows, cabaret acts and classical musical ensembles after dark. There is also a small casino with slot machines and three gaming tables.
