Overview Itinerary
The Ship
Azamara Journey joined the Azamara Club Cruises fleet in May 2007. This elegant mid-sized ship sets sail with less than 690 guests onboard and combines a sophisticated yet casual ambiance with a contemporary style and personalised service. Her intimate restaurants, bars, and lounges are complimented by excellent leisure facilities and chic staterooms. Spend your days afloat sunbathing by the pool or enjoying pampering treatments in the Sanctum Spa. Shape up with one-to-one personal training in the Fitness Centre or lose yourself in a book in The Drawing Room. Join the wine sommelier for a wine tasting or improve your cookery skills at a culinary demonstration. Step ashore at your ports of call to experience the local culture, cuisine, and places of interest.

The restaurants and eateries onboard Azamara Journey tempt you with destination-inspired cuisine. The elegant Discoveries Restaurant blends open-seating with the Destination Immersion menu and a choice of daily-changing specialities. Windows Cafe offers casual-style fare during the daytime, followed by a daily-themed dinner menu in the evening. The Patio is a casual 'pool grill' by day and an alfresco dining venue after dark. Treat yourself to Italian-inspired contemporary cuisine and speciality dishes in Aqualina or feast on steaks from the grill in Prime C. 'Nights in Private Places' is the perfect treat for two - enjoy champagne and canapés, food from the hot stone grill, drinks on the terrace, a night under the stars in a private outdoor bed, and breakfast in bed.

The bars and lounges on Azamara Journey suit your every mood. Sip your favourite speciality coffee in Mosaic Cafe and Mosaic @ Night. The Living Room is the hub of the ship both day and night; where you can socialise with your fellow guests, relax with a pot of tea, or enjoy tapas and wine. The Pool Bar is open for water-side drinks and cocktails. Start your evening off in style with pre-dinner drinks in the friendly ambiance of Discoveries Bar, returning for a nightcap or two later. Watch big-screen sports over an ice-cold beer in Spirits bar. The wine cellar offers a fine selection of wines to add to your dining experience.

Azamara Journey offers an eclectic mix of entertainment. The Cabaret Lounge is the place for musical revues, live bands and classical soloists. Exercise your mind with trivia and music quizzes or join in the 'Star Struck' entertainment game show. Themed events such as the famous White Night party also add to the fun after dark. If you're feeling lucky; visit the slot machines, blackjack tables and roulette wheel in the Casino.
Day 1 - 2: UK to Barcelona, Spain
Fly from your chosen UK airport to Barcelona and enjoy coach transfers to the port to board Azamara Journey for your 7-night Mediterranean cruise.
Day 3: Provence (Marseille), France
Your stepping stone to the fields of lavender of Provence and charming villages like Cassis or Les Baux. Drop into one of the restaurants around the colourful Vieux Port (old harbour) and order Bouillabaisse, the hearty fish stew invented here.
Day 4: St Tropez, France
The bustling coastal town of St Tropez sits on France's Cote d'Azur. St Tropez was made famous in the Brigitte Bardot film 'And God Created Woman' in the 1950s and remains a favourite with the jet-set, especially in the summer months. Gaze in awe at the luxury yachts moored at Vieux Port or take a stroll through the cobbled streets of La Ponce old fishing quarter. People-watch over a glass of local pastis at Place de Lices or admire the amazing city-wide views from La Citadelle de Saint-Tropez. Call into Eglise de St-Tropez and Chapelle de la Misericorde or enjoy the artworks at Musee de l’Annonciade. Spend a few hours sunbathing on the golden sands of Pampellone Beach or get up close to the colourful butterfly exhibits at Maison des Papillons.
Day 5: Monte Carlo, Monaco
Monte Carlo is renowned across the world for glamour, gambling and the Grand Prix. Found in the principality of Monaco — the world's second-smallest country — Monte Carlo is a stylish destination where you can find mega yachts, botanical gardens and luxury hotels. During the day, relax at Larvotto Beach or see the famous Circuit de Monaco — where the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix takes place. You also have the Oceanographic Museum, Monaco Cathedral, Napoleon Museum, and Prince's Palace of Monaco to enjoy. In the evening, truly experience the splendour of the nation with a visit to the iconic Monte Carlo Casino or Opera de Monte Carlo. See more of the stunning French Riviera with a tour along the coast to sample local wines and cheeses.
Day 6: Santa Margherita, Italy
The port of Santa Margherita sits on Italy's Ligurian coast, 35km southeast of Genoa. This charming town boasts a beautiful seafront promenade lined with elegant hotels and yachts. Stroll up the hillside and visit the small 15th-century Castello, Chiesa dei Frati Cappuccini, and nearby Chiesa di San Giacomo with its Madonna statue. Relax in the idyllic gardens of the 17th-century Villa Durazzo. Take the 30-minute boat trip along the Tigullio Gulf to picturesque Portofino; admire the pastel-coloured houses, window-shop at the luxury boutiques, and feast on delicious seafood on the Piazzetta.
Day 7: Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy
Livorno — Tuscany's second-largest city — is home to one of Italy's largest cruise ports. The city's main Terrazza Mascagni square with its grand pavement and seafront promenade is a common meeting place for locals looking to relax. The 16th-century Old Fortress faces the harbour and sits at the entrance to the canal-lined Venezia district. Enjoy gourmet dishes and sample local seafood, which is said to be the best on the Tyrrhenian Coast. Head to Central Piazza Cavour or the car-free Via Ricasoli for shopping, try Via Magenta and pick up some quirky souvenirs, or stop by Via dei Pensieri's street market for a great selection of food, clothing, accessories, and homewares. If you're looking to travel further afield, Pisa is just a short drive away.
Day 8: Rome, Italy to UK
Your cruise comes to an end in Rome where you disembark the ship. Enjoy a coach transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
