Star Flyer was the first big sailing ship to join the Star Clippers' fleet in July 1991. This true clipper ship sets sail with a maximum of 170 guests and combines traditional unfurled sails, expansive teak decks, and polished brass with spacious cabins and plenty of space to relax and play. The hospitable crew and officers are also on hand to add to your tall ship cruising experience.
Spend your days at sea making the most of shipboard life - help raise the sails, visit the open bridge, learn how to tie a knot, lie on the bowsprit at the prow of the ship, or even climb up the mast to the Crow's Nest to enjoy panoramic vistas. Soak up the sun by the duo of pools or lose yourself in a book by the Belle Époque fireplace in the charming library.
Explore worldwide destinations in style aboard Star Flyer.
Star Flyer's dining room tempts your tastebuds with tasty destination-inspired cuisine made from the freshest of local ingredients. Start the day with a light continental breakfast of pastries, croissants and English muffins, or indulge in a cooked feast of crisp bacon, grilled sausages, and eggs and omelettes cooked to order.
Lunch is buffet-style with seafood, salads and grilled delights to savour; occasional outdoor barbecues ashore add to the culinary delights. The dress-code for dinner in the dining room is 'casual elegance', with the option of dining at a time to suit and with whomever you wish.
The indoor-outdoor Tropical Bar and Piano Bar are the heartbeat of the ship from dawn until dusk. This is the perfect spot to chill out with your morning coffee or to relax after dinner with your favourite tipple as you chat with new-found friends.
The evening usually starts with a daily briefing from the Captain on deck, recapping the day's events and forthcoming ports of call. Local performers come aboard at some ports to entertain you or there is live music and the chance to socialise with your fellow guests and crew in the Tropical Bar and Piano Bar.
