A true titan of the ocean in both sheer size and groundbreaking design, Oasis of the Seas launched in December 2009. This ship glides above its contemporaries in cutting-edge technology and creative innovation. It boasts recently-refurbished staterooms, incredibly high-speed Internet and Tony award-winning Broadway show CATS. There's a huge assortment of facilities on-board to keep any type of holiday-maker captivated throughout their cruise. You can speed along the nine-deck high Zip Line, enjoy high-dive acrobatics at the on-board amphitheatre, or take a stroll through one of the ship's seven themed-neighbourhoods - including Central Park and Boardwalk.
The spectacularly high ceilings and elegant décor of the Promenade is home to amazing pieces at Britto Art Gallery, favourite animated characters at DreamWorks, and duty-free delights at an updated range of boutiques. Evenings also bring amazing nightlife and extraordinary entertainment to the area. For active travellers, there's kickboxing, mini-golf, ice skating, a surf simulator and two rock-climbing walls. But if leisure's more your style, relax in the sun at one of the pools, unwind in the luxury whirlpool, or rejuvenate in the spa or adult-only solarium. Oasis of the Seas never forgets its young sailors. There's a devoted Youth Zone and variety of water features at H2O Water Park, as well as a classic carousel, video arcade and enchanting ice shows to keep them busy. This state-of-the-art ship provides family-friendly fun and relaxation necessities in droves.
Complimentary dining never disappoints on Oasis of the Seas. The new Dynamic Dining programme presents lots more choice and flexibility, with no set dining times, assigned seating, or compulsory formal evenings. The main dining room includes: Silk, with dinners inspired by the Far East, Grande, offering classic cuisine, and American Icon Grill, providing USA-inspired dishes. Head to buffet-style Windjammer Marketplace for international cuisines and tasty snacks throughout the day, or try Sorrento's Pizza to feast on Italian dishes. Boardwalk Dog House provides an amazing array of hot dogs, bratwursts, fresh buns and selection of toppings. The casual Park Cafe is a market of gourmet foods, while Cafe Promenade is ready with coffees, cookies, pastries and sandwiches. After surfing, you can always savour burgers, sandwiches and ice cream at Wipe Out Cafe, or enjoy light and healthy snacks by the whirlpools at Solarium Bistro.
Your idea of elegant dining is transformed aboard Oasis of the Seas. The Grande Restaurant offers a magnificent décor and sumptuous menu including beef Wellington and chicken a l'orange, while 150 Central Park provides an intimate six to eight course menu and paired wines. Signature steakhouse Chops Grille serves premium meats and seafood, or you can dine at Giovanni's Table for rustic Tuscan dishes. If you fancy more dedicated global options, try either Izumi for sushi and sashimi, or Sabor Taqueria & Tequila Bar for Mexican food and drinks. The family ambience and holiday spirit at 1950s-themed Johnny Rockets is matched only by its fun menu of American-style fries, juicy hamburgers and thick milkshakes. For kids or sugar-lovers, head to Candy Beach or Cups & Scoops for freshly-baked cupcakes and Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Regardless of venue, you're sure to be astounded by the style, quality and selection.
Time stands waiting at the port as you board Oasis of the Seas. The ship offers an admirable range of bars and lounges to enjoy lively or relaxing drinks throughout the day. Deck Four is home to Blaze, where you can dance and drink until late. Champagne Bar offers celebratory toasts, while down-to-earth Globe and Atlas Pub serves pints and performances, and nearby Boleros Lounge features cocktails with Latin music - all three sit waiting on Deck Five. On the sixth deck, you find the nautically-themed Schooner Bar and the liquor-loving Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar. But Deck Eight claims three spectacular drinking venues. There's a world-class cellar at Vintages, glass-domed canopies at Trellis Bar, and two-storeys of music, dancing and drinking at Dazzles. The highest place to grab a drink is Solarium Bar, on Deck Sixteen beside the whirlpools with perfect sea-views. But the absolute must-visit on Oasis of the Seas is the spectacular Rising Tide Bar. Not only are there delicious drinks and a friendly atmosphere - but the entire bar ascends and descends over three decks while you sit!
Oasis of the Seas has plenty on-board to amuse and enchant each evening. The huge selection of bars and lounges brings with it a wide range of live music and entertainment - the only problem is choosing between them. Renowned Broadway shows come alive at the Opal Theater, including the newly added smash-hit CATS. AquaTheater puts on dazzling aerial acrobatics, stunning synchronised swimming and wonderful water shows against an ocean backdrop, or there's On Air Club for karaoke fun. The beautifully quaint Boardwalk neighbourhood is brimful of amusements, attractions and arcade games for the whole family, and the choreographed ice skating shows leave you truly spellbound. Kids have plenty of activities and clubs to keep them happy during the evening, although Fuel on the fifteenth deck is the ship's dance and music club especially for teenagers. If you're understandably feeling lucky after a day of luxury cruising, try the blackjack tables, roulette wheels and slot machines of the Vegas-meets-Monte Carlo Casino Royale. This ship is a floating palace of fun and memorable times.
