Palermo, Italy
A bustling, noisy port, Palermo yet holds an unrivalled display of Norman art and architecture and Baroque churches, combined with a warren of medieval streets and markets. With Sicily’s greatest concentration of sights, and the biggest historic centre in Italy bar Rome, Palermo is a complex, multilayered port that can easily feel overwhelming if you try to do or see too much in one Mediterranean cruise visit. The best thing to do here is just to wander as the fancy takes you, sifting through Palermo’s jumbled layers of crumbling architecture, along deserted back alleys, then suddenly emerging in the midst of an ebullient street market.
4
Naples, Italy
Naples on Italy's Amalfi Coast is your next port of call. Visit Piazza del Plebiscito to admire the Royal Palace, Galleria Umberto and San Carlo Theatre. Step inside the Duomo to view the Cappella di San Gennaro, the baptistery, and colourful frescoes and mosaics. Enjoy family-time at Acquario Della Stazione Zoological Di Napoli. Join a tour to the ruins of Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and picturesque Sorrento and Positano. Or take a scenic boat trip to the beautiful island of Capri.
5
Piombino, Italy
Piombino is a port town in the Italian province of Livorno, situated on the border between the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Sea. Explore the town's historical centre on foot and admire the ancient 12th-century Torrione gateway and the adjoining Rivellino reinforcement. Stroll along Corso Vittorio Emanuele and stop for a bite to eat at one of the eateries. Climb up to Piazza Bovio terrace and admire the stunning views over Elba Island and, on a clear day, the islands of Montecristo, Capraia, Giglio, and Corsica. Visit Museo Archeologico del Territorio di Populonia, Museo del Mare, and Museo del Castello e delle Ceramiche Medievali. You can also view the unique snake's heads fountain Fonte dei Canali alongside the old harbour.
6
Villefranche, France
Villefranche on France's Cote d'Azur is today's port of call. Located on a picturesque bay, with Cap de Nice to the right and Cap Ferrat to the left, this port town is the perfect place to spend the day. Meander around the harbour and sea front Quai Courbet, before stopping for morning coffee at Place Amelie Polonnais. Discover the pastel-coloured buildings of the Old Town and view the trompe l'oeil paintings on the facades of house on the main Rue de Poilu. The baroque Church of Saint-Michel, Chapelle St-Pierre, and La Citadelle are well worth a visit too. Villefranche is also gateway to the nearby popular resort of Nice, the inland medieval village of Eze, and Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild on Cap Ferrat.
7
Palamos, Spain

Health & Fitness

Far from hustle and bustle, stress and everyday, guests are encouraged to disable the body and mind to relax and re-energise in the spa areas.

For those who wish to keep active, there are a wide variety of sporting activities and classes taking place either in a group or with a personal trainer that are sure to get the blood pumping.

Kids & Teens

Marella Cruises have worked on every last detail when it comes to getting the kids onboard. That means family-sized and inter-connecting cabins, buffet lunches featuring favourites like pizza and spaghetti bolognese, and a great mix of activities.

They lay on table tennis and football tournaments, fun quizzes, and early evening shows during their sea days. And when the ship is in port, children up to the age of 12 get discounted rates on some of their exciting shore excursions.

Every ship has a free Kids’ Club, too. So mum and dad can have time together while the little ones fill their days with treasure hunts, face-painting, and stories.
