Malaga, Spain
Nestling at the heart of Spain's Costa del Sol, Málaga is a chic and cosmopolitan city. From its lively port and historical buildings to the mouth-watering cuisine and stylish shopping streets, Malaga offers something for everyone. Enjoy the panoramic vistas from Gibralfaro Castle and explore Picasso's birthplace, found in Plaza de la Merced. Unwind in the idyllic Jardin Botanico Historico La Concepcion, or view the paintings at the Picasso Museum. Explore the majestic cathedral or shop on the traffic-free Calle Marques de Larios. Relax with a coffee at Plaza de la Constitucion or spend the morning on La Malagueta beach. Venture further afield and admire the stunning Alhambra Palace in Granada or the amazing underground caves in Nerja.

Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is one of the most famous cities in the world. Located between the gleaming Mediterranean Sea and the Serra de Collserola hills, this cosmopolitan Spanish city is known for its diverse art and architecture. Walk the iconic Las Ramblas promenade and see quirky street entertainers or stop for a coffee at a pavement cafe. View some of Antoni Gaudi's most famous works including the Sagrada Família Church and the mosaic wall in Park Güell. Explore the winding streets of the Gothic quarter and sample tapas in a traditional bar or relax in the city's biggest green space — Park Ciutadel.

Salerno, Italy
The picturesque port city of Salerno overlooks the Gulf of Salerno in Italy's Campania region. Stroll along the tree-lined seafront promenade before meandering through Centro Storico where medieval churches rub shoulders with traditional trattorias, trendy wine bars, and chic boutiques. Get up close to the fauna and flora at Giardino della Minerva or enjoy a spot of culture at Museo Archeologico Provincal and Museo Pinacoteca Provincal. Step inside the impressive Duomo di Salerno or climb up to the mountain-top Castello di Arechi to enjoy far-reaching views.
10
Palermo, Italy
A bustling, noisy port, Palermo yet holds an unrivalled display of Norman art and architecture and Baroque churches, combined with a warren of medieval streets and markets. With Sicily’s greatest concentration of sights, and the biggest historic centre in Italy bar Rome, Palermo is a complex, multilayered port that can easily feel overwhelming if you try to do or see too much in one Mediterranean cruise visit. The best thing to do here is just to wander as the fancy takes you, sifting through Palermo’s jumbled layers of crumbling architecture, along deserted back alleys, then suddenly emerging in the midst of an ebullient street market.
11
La Goulette, Tunisia
La Goulette is the port of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. Discover the 1535 Kasbah fortress here, built by Charles I of Spain but was captured by the Ottonman Turks in 1574. Uncover the archaeological remains of ancient Carthaginian city Byra or wander Carthage National Museum which showcases fascinating statues and pottery from nearby excavations. Attend a concert in the 19th-century church Acropolium of Carthage or head to Lake of Tunis; a beautiful natural lagoon that was once the natural harbour of Tunis. Take pictures of the Roman Carthage Amphitheatre, rebuilt by Dictator Julius, and take time to explore Zitouna Mosque while you capture photos of the medina with the city's twinkling lights in the background.
12
Cagliari, Sardinia
Cagliari is the capital of the Italian island of Sardinia. Golden-hued palazzi, domes and buildings wind their way up the rocky hillside to Il Castello and the Old Town district. Stroll along the tree-lined boulevards by the seafront Marina. Stop by the impressive Cattedrale di Santa Maria or step back in time at Museo Archaeologico Nazionale. Take the lift from Piazza della Costituzione to Bastione San Remy for sweeping views. Spend a few hours soaking up the sun on Poetto Beach or enjoy a glimpse of local life at Mercato di San Benedetto. A visit to the pink flamingos at Parco di Molentargius is a must-do too.

Cadiz, Spain
The ancient port city of Cadiz lies on a peninsula on Spain's south-west coast. From its bustling harbour to its Moorish-style old town, Cadiz is awash with things to see and do. Explore Museo de Cadiz and Museo de las Cortes de Cadiz, or visit the cathedral to see more of the city from its Toree de Poniente. Soak up the sunshine on Playa de Caleta beach and escape to Parque Genoves. Relax with a plate of fried fish on Plaza de Flores, before shopping in the adjacent Mercado Central de Abastos. Venture further afield and experience flamenco and fiestas in the tree-lined streets of Seville or uncover the art of sherry making in Jerez.
