Experience the new era of cruising with Saga Cruises as the new Spirit of Discovery joins the fleet in summer 2019. This custom-built, boutique-style ship will set sail around Europe and the Mediterranean, and also transatlantic to New York with a maximum of 999 passengers and 517 crew. Spirit of Discovery will drop anchor most mornings in a new port of call, where you can step ashore to sightsee and sample the local culture and cuisine.
The elegant and open-seating Grand Dining Room will serve the finest a la carte international cuisine at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, alongside a traditional afternoon tea service. The informal Verandah and Grill will offer indoor and outdoor spaces, where you can savour a buffet-style lunch and waiter-served 'a la minute' dishes at dinner. Reserve your table at East to West speciality restaurant to experience authentic tastes of Asia in an oriental style setting. Enjoy a modern seafood dining experience including 'catch of the day' and also tartare, ceviche, and shellfish dishes at Coast to Coast eatery. If you prefer to relax in your cabin, you will also be able to have food delivered courtesy of 24-hour room service.
The Terrace will be the go-to place for open-air drinks after a stroll around Promenade Deck or maybe chill with a cup of coffee and delicious homemade cake in The Library. Sip a glass of wine, craft beer, or your favourite cocktail as you watch live sports on the big screens in the chic surroundings of South Cape Bar. The Living Room will be the ship's social hub - the perfect spot to grab a coffee, meet up with friends, or indulge in a gelato during the daytime; becoming a champagne bar in the evening where you can enjoy a glass or two of bubbly or a tropical cocktail. Lunch and dinner in the restaurants will also come with complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks, and unlimited tea and coffee will be available in selected venues.

Day 4: Aalborg, Denmark
The Danish city of Aalborg is located on the newly-renovated Limfjord waterfront in the North Jutland province. Meander along Jomfru Ane Gade and stop for a drink at one of its many bars. Get up close to animals from around the world at Aalborg Zoo or relax in the idyllic surroundings of Skanse Park. Enjoy family-time at Farup Sommerland amusement park and Leo's Legeland play centre. Step back in time at Aalborg Historical Museum, admire the artworks at Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg or marvel at the exhibits at Springeren Maritime Centre. Pay a visit to the nearby half-timbered Aalborghus Castle or ride the elevator up Aalborg Tower for panoramic vistas.
Day 5: Copenhagen, Denmark (overnight)

Copenhagen, Denmark's capital city, is your next port of call. Ride the old-style amusement rides at Tivoli Gardens or get up close to colourful marine life at National Aquarium Denmark. Shop 'til you drop along the world's longest pedestrian shopping street - Strøget. A tour of the Carlsberg Brewery is a popular choice or enjoy family-fun at Dyrehavsbakken amusement park. Kronborg Castle and Christiansborg Palace on Slotsholmen Island are a must-see for culture fans. If you fancy something different, why not head out to the workshops, galleries and organic eateries at Freetown Christiania? No trip to Copenhagen would be complete without a photo opportunity at the world-famous Little Mermaid statue.
Day 7: Aarhus, Denmark
Today the ship docks in Aarhus — the Danish 'City of Smiles' - on the Jutland Peninsula. Old meets new in this charming city where Scandi-chic galleries rub shoulders with the old docks and Latin Quarter. Stroll around the Marselisborg Palace and the tranquil Aarhus Botanical Gardens. Get a culture fix at Den Gamle By open-air Museum and explore Danish art at Aarhus Art Museum. There's family-fun aplenty with the Haunted House and fairground rides at Tivoli Friheden amusement park. Travel inland to the picturesque lakeside city of Silkeborg to visit the pre-historic Tollund Man at the Silkeborg Museum.
Day 8: Gothenburg, Sweden
Today, explore Sweden's Gothenburg — often referred to as 'Little London'. A city with a popular cafe and bar culture, Gothenburg offers cosmopolitan venues with a small-town atmosphere. Enjoy its canals and wide boulevards lines with shops, bars and restaurants during your time here. Visit art gallery, Konstmuseet, and the century-old Masthugget Church before heading to the city's botanical garden — featuring the colourful Rhododendron Valley — and sampling oysters and fish platters at the seafood market.
Day 9: Oslo, Norway
Oslo, the capital of Norway, sits on the country’s southern coast and is known for its spectacular snow-capped mountains and rolling green hills. Take a stroll around the modern city and be mesmerised by the eclectic mix of ancient castles and dazzling lakes. Journey back in time at the Viking House Museum or revel in the enchanted atmosphere at the magic Ice Bar Oslo. Stop by the Vigeland Sculpture Park and become fascinated with the ‘wonder-world’ of stone, iron and bronze human figures.
Day 11: Esbjerg, Denmark
The town of Esbjerg sits on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. The unique Man Meets the Sea figures greet you at the harbour entrance. Get up close to the marine life at the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, or go on a seal safari in the neighbouring Wadden Sea National Park. Discover over seventy shops and restaurants and also a cinema in the new Broen Shopping Centre.
