Day 5: Pine Island, New Caledonia
The Isle of Pines is a small island situated south of the mainland New Caledonia. You won’t find mass tourism here. Instead, its breathtaking beauty is purely the nature — untouched for centuries. Relax on the white sand beaches of Kanumera bay, or sail atop canoes alongside dolphins and turtles from Upi Bay. You can also swim with thousands of multi-coloured fish in the crystal clear waters of Oro Bay. Although now a paradise of natural wonders, the Isle of Pine was once a penal colony; remnants of which can still be found on the south-western part of the island.
Day 6: Lifou, New Caledonia
Lifou Island is part of the Loyalty Islands' archipelago in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory in the Pacific Ocean. Step ashore to a friendly welcome from the locals. Head to Easo Beach for a few hours' rest and relaxation or take a guided tour to the fascinating Grotto D'Avio and The Devil's Cave. Gain insight into island life with a visit to Notre Dame de Lourdes Chapel or the fragrant Much Weng Vanilla Plantation.
Day 7: Port Vila, Vanuatu
The harbour side capital of Vanuatu, Port Vila is home to colourful markets showcasing local produce and unique handicrafts. Take a boat trip out to the private island of Iririki to snorkel the vivid blue waters and catch a glimpse of fascinating sea life. Mele Cascades is a wondrous natural attraction; observe the waters rushing and the sounds of birds tweeting. The National Museum of Vanuatu offers traditional culture and art, photo displays, and sand-drawing demonstrations. Take a spectacular helicopter ride with Vanuatu Helicopters to marvel at the sensational scenery or chill out near Kumul Highway at Chantilly's on the Bay for a delicious seaside coffee.
Day 9: Lautoka, Fiji
The Port of Lautoka is situated on the western side of the island and is just a 20 minute walk from Lautoka. Explore the wide range of local markets that sell a variety of handmade goods and crafts. You can also take a short trip to the Vuda Marina and try the local cuisines. Around 10km south-east of Lautoka is the Koroyanitu National Heritage Park for those that enjoy mountain trails and scenic views. Alternatively, take a cruise ship around the island and see the pristine waters of Fiji in all its beauty or relax and forget about the world on the various beaches available throughout the area.
Day 10: Savusavu, Fiji
Located on the south coast of Vanua Levu Island; Savusavu is a town in the Fijian Province of Cakaudrove and is known as 'the hidden paradise of Fiji'. A scuba divers' haven; the magnificent marine life and soft coral is the ultimate dream, marvel at unique fish and plant species. Take a peaceful walk around Flora Tropica Gardens to look at 300 species of palms or explore the 120-hectare flora and fauna of Waisali Rainforest Reserve. Spend time viewing the impressive waterfalls; Nakawaga Waterfall is located in a small jungle. Said to be extremely therapeutic, take a dip in the hot springs to end your day in the tropical climate. For quality island coffee get your caffeine fix from the Captain's Cafe on Copra Shed Marina.
Day 11: Dravuni, Fiji
A volcanic island in the Kadavu Group of islands in Fiji, Dravuni is inhabited by approximately 125 people and is the most northern of the islands within the Great Astrolabe Reef. The islanders will be ready to greet you with their singing. You'll be able stroll around the entire island in no time taking in beautiful plants and wildlife along the way. Head uphill to make it to the top of the peak; a great spot to admire vistas across the whole island. Pick up clothing, crafts, and jewellery from the quaint little shops or spend a day at the beach to splash in the crystal-blue waters. Snorkel next to Astrolabe Reef, a divers' paradise, to get a glimpse of unique sea life.
Day 13: Noumea, New Caledonia
Off the east coast of Australia lies the island of New Caledonia. The Port of Noumea provides easy access to the beautiful beaches on Baie des Citrons and Anse Vata to the south. You can also take a few minutes boat ride to the offshore beaches Îlot Maître and Îlot Canard. All of these locations provide opportunity to engage in outdoor water sports all year round. The cultural diversity will be felt throughout the city as well — whether it’s through sightseeing the traditional architecture such as Saint Joseph’s Cathedral or dining in the fusion of flavours and cuisines.
Day 16: Sydney, Australia to UK
Your holiday comes to an end. Disembark and be privately transferred back to the airport for your return flight back to the UK.
